Unique mountainside at the Asitz

The Asitz Mountain in Leogang, which borders on the Saalbach Hinterglemm region, is considered a perfect destination for a family trip. The free ascent (in summer) on the Asitz cabin lift take adults and children up to 1,760 m, from where various hikes and mountain walks begin. Walking across the Asitzmulde and along the mountain lake, hiking guests can enjoy the unique alpine flora and breathtaking alpine world.

The top 3 hiking destinations in Leogang

Spielbergalmen:

It starts at the parking lot of Knappenstube Unterberghaus. The hike stretches over 10,2 km and takes about 3 hours. You can stop at the Lindlalm, where you have to taste the 'Almwuzel', a self created speciality.

Birnbachloch:

The hike begins at the parking lot Ullachtal/Passauer Hütte in Leogang. Within 6,3 km and 1,5 hours you reach the karst spring Birnbachloch and the Birnbach glacier, Middle-Europe's deepest glacier.

Saalachtaler high-way trails:

Both tours last about 4,5 hours and start at the Asitz valley station. From here you take the gondola to the mountain station (free of charge with the Löwen Alpin Card). The western high-way trail leads across the small and the big Asitz to the Spielbergalmen and back to the valley to the Knappenstube Unterberghaus. The eastern route leads to the mountain inns Biberg and Huggenberg. From there you can glide with the summer funicular down into the valley!

Hiking fun with kids!

Sinnlehenalm:

Start at the parish church in the center of Leogang and walk 2 km past meadows and forest paths to the alpine pasture. There a playground, a few petting animals and a cheese factory, which can be visited, await you. If the children still have power you can continue to the summer funicular at the Biberg.

Riedlalm:

The hike begins at the Badhaus in Leogang. You can also go to the Riedlhof by car and then walk up to the Riedlalm. There the Leogang archery parcour awaits you - a pleasure for all ages!

Pirzbichl path:

Kick off at the parking lot of the cemetery in Leogang. On a distance of 5 km you can enjoy varied landscapes and a first class panorama.
